| Amish Winter The sleeping ground and dormant trees rest beneath a white “quilt” of snow. In “Amish Winter” the old-order Amish homestead is peaceful and serene. Nearby chickadees sing and call to each other. An early morning between snowstorms find the wash line in use. Quilts are airing and will smell crisp and clean when they are warming the bed tonight. Every Amish buggy has a quilt inside for warmth on those cold winter drives. When the snow becomes impassable by buggy, the sleigh and horses can be seen traveling the back roads. |
